How to save money on auto insurance

There is nothing that makes you bite your nails like shopping around for insurance.  But, the days of waiting around for the quotes and information is over.  Most of the insurance companies now allow you to get your quote online immediatly, pay for your premium, and print out your insurance card all within minutes. With this kind of speed to get things done also allows you to shop around a little more.  Checking up on 4-5 different sites for prices.  There are also sites that allow you to look at several quotes all at once, such as, onlineautoinsurance.com or esurance.com.  I have made a list also of a few of the online insurance companies to search around with.

Here are a few tips on getting lower rates too...
  1. 1. Taking a drivers education course every 5 years.
  2. 2. Checking on the safety ratings on cars before buying.
  3. 3. Having more than one car on insurance gives you a multicar discount.
  4. 4. If you are in school, good grades gives you a good student discount.
  5. 5. Having home/renter's insurance on the same account gives a multipolicy discount.
  6. 6. Keep your driving record clean.
  7. 7. Lowering deductibles.
  8. 8. Shopping around with several companies.
  9. 9. Add an alarm system to your car and it will pay for itself.
  10. 10. Check with your employer for special discounts through your job.

Don't let the flu get you down

One of the biggest reasons that people miss out of work every year is the flu.  If only flu shots were available to everyone and at a low cost.  Well, this year may be different.  Several venues, pharmacies, and doctors are giving cheap flu shots out.  There are even places like CVS and Walgreens giving $25+ flu shots.  Not getting a paycheck?  Then you are ok.  There are places that are giving free flu shots to the unemployed since they know the unemployment rates have sky rocketed and they need to be healthy to get and keep a job this winter.  These savings need to be taken advantage of before the stash of vaccines run low.  Remember, this cheap shot will also keep you from missing work and missing out on those paychecks.

Talk more and spend less

When you talk on your phone it can cost you a pretty penny for every minute that you continue.  Cell phone companies are greatly decreasing their fees that they are changing.  Take that phone of yours and call that service provider to see if they have any new deals that could save you big.  T-mobile is one of the biggies to do this now.  Coming up with an unlimited plan that costs you only 79.99 per month for unlimited minutes, texting, and data transfers.  If you are not in an area where you can get a more local cell phone provider that allows unlimited everything for a measly 39.99 then this might be a great option for you.  If you are like me, spending hours upon hours on the mobile web or sending massive amounts of text messages to your friends and family, then this could save you bunches!
